Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer – Electronics to lead the electronic and communication system design for its facilities, including CCTV, access control, and radio networks, within the Engineering/Architecture Design Division at 4WTC.

Reporting to the Chief Electrical Engineer, the role directs, guides and reviews design work, manages staff, and ensures projects meet scope, budget, and schedule while complying with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering.
• 12+ years of professional engineering design and support experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in NY and/or NJ.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and review contract documents for DBB contracts.
• Lead teams in producing bid-ready design documents.
• Oversee RFQ/RFP documents for design-build contracts.
• Provide design guidance and ensure project collaboration across disciplines.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and maintainability of systems.
• Coordinate with consultants, utilities, and vendors.
