Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal Data Science Engineer to join the Digital Service Performance and Analytics team in a hybrid Irving, TX role. You will transform enterprise data into strategic intelligence that shapes customer behavior and market trends for the Verizon Consumer Group.

You will architect products and assets that support the Digital Sales Organization, Digital Sales Planning & Operations, and Digital Service by developing and performing complex analyses using big data technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in data management, analysis and visualization.
• Expertise with Google Cloud Platform (Big Query / Vertex AI / Looker / LookML / Looker Studio Pro)
• Experience in Looker & Qlik or similar visual analysis tool. Hands‑on experience working with enterprise‑scale datasets, with a focus on optimizing query performance and dashboard responsiveness.
• Experience with data modeling using LookML in the Looker platform.
• Experience as a data scientist, analyst, or statistical modeler.
• Experience with the programming language SQL.
• Experience in designing, developing and implementing ETL processes.
• Experience leveraging AI tools like Claude, Antigravity, and CO-Pilot

Responsibilities

• Develop high-scale systems, applications, and advanced visual dashboards using Big Data technologies.
• Design and refine predictive models to solve complex business questions and improve operational predictability.
• Extract actionable insights from massive datasets to drive revenue and customer retention
• Lead process improvement initiatives and ensure rigorous data quality standards.
• Apply sophisticated UI/UX design principles to data visualization.
• Stay at the forefront of modeling techniques and emerging industry trends to keep Verizon’s analytics ecosystem ahead of the game.
