Job summary

Iridium Satellite LLC seeks a Principal Data Engineer to lead the modern data platform, bridging data engineering and analytics engineering to deliver trusted data products.

You will design scalable ELT/ETL pipelines, implement data governance, and mentor engineers while partnering with stakeholders to enable enterprise analytics across the organization.

The role supports a hybrid work model with in-office collaboration; travel may be occasional as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading complex technical Data/Analytics projects.
• Deep expertise in relational data modeling and SQL.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks).
• Data governance, privacy, and security practices.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and evolution of the data platform.
• Build scalable ELT/ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Set data standards, governance, and security practices.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers; drive continuous improvement.
