Job summary

Northwest-Surgical in Vancouver, WA is seeking a full-time Pre Admission Registered Nurse to join our ambulatory surgery team. The role starts on-site with eventual hybrid scheduling, Monday through Friday, eight hours daily.

You will conduct verbal pre-admission assessments by phone, collect medical history, coordinate with anesthesia, and ensure patients are ready for surgery with complete preop instructions. Requires WA RN license and nursing degree, Epic experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Verbal assessment with patient prior to admission via phone.
• Collect medical history from records and coordinate with anesthesia team.
• Ensure preop readiness with complete health history and instructions.
• Document calls and communicate with team clearly.

Responsibilities

• Practice telephone and patient triage with quality care and efficiency.
• Conduct verbal assessments and relay information to team.
• Assess and document pertinent information for patient records.
• Respond to inquiries from callers accurately and promptly.
• Document all encounters using appropriate information systems.
• Alert anesthesia of special needs before surgery date.
• Use courteous communication with patients and staff.
• Convey arrival times and NPO instructions per protocol.
