Job summary

Bastion Technologies is seeking a Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) Engineer to support the space program at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The role focuses on PRA model development and risk-informed decision support for the HLS program.

Responsibilities include maintaining logic models, reviewing reliability documentation, and performing quantitative risk assessments with tools like SAPHIRE, MATLAB, CAFTA, and Python.

Qualifications

• This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field is required.
• 5+ years of recent and related work experience are required.
• In lieu of degree, 9+ years of recent and related experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple parallel tasks at varying levels of maturity with effective time management.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of information and clearly summarize key insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update integrated logic models and quantitative fault tree analyses (SAPHIRE) supporting risk models for the Human Landing System (HLS) program.
• Review and assess project reliability documentation to ensure consistency with program requirements.
• Develop analytical tools to identify reliability and risk assessment requirements for MSFC programs and projects.
• Conduct Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) for the HLS Moon2Mars Program, including model development, investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Provide expertise in evaluating documentation related to manufacturing, inspection, and test processes.
• Perform focused quantitative risk assessments to support risk-informed decisions on flight risk and mitigation options.
