Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of grammar and storytelling.
• Familiarity with the South African media landscape and PR best practices.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with media monitoring tools is a plus.
• A proactive and results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute public relations and communication strategies to support business objectives.
• Write and edit press releases, articles, blog posts, social media content, and other communication materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, industry influencers, and community partners.
• Monitor media coverage and analyze campaign effectiveness, reporting key insights to management.
• Assist in the planning and execution of communication campaigns and events.
• Support internal communication efforts to keep employees informed and engaged.
• Manage social media channels, creating engaging content and responding to inquiries.
• Assist in developing crisis communication plans and responses as needed.
• Ensure all communications are aligned with brand guidelines and company messaging.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure consistent communication.
