Job summary

AspenTech is seeking a Manager, Project Engineer in Medina, Minnesota to lead a team delivering control system projects and client support. You will oversee hardware/software design, testing, and customer success across utility-scale applications.

The role emphasizes leadership, power-systems experience, and hands-on engineering across real-time control environments, with a hybrid work model and travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in power systems or electric utility operations with prior team leadership.
• Experience in real-time control systems, client/server apps, network communications, Unix/Linux/Windows.
• Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Cassandra) and JSON/XML.
• Strong communication, leadership and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Hybrid model: work 4 days in the office; travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project engineers to deliver projects of varying scales and complexities.
• Design, plan, integrate, test and commission hardware and software requirements on customer systems.
• Develop and lead state-of-the-art power systems applications for real-time control, including sales demos.
• Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements through customer communication.
• Provide system and application design.
• Perform hardware, software and system installation, integration, and testing.
• Customize system, hardware and network configuration based on customer requirements.
• Provide customer support per contract maintenance and warranty.
• Assist in creating training materials and project documentation.
