Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior controls engineer to lead the development of hybrid control systems for generators, inverters, and battery energy storage. You will guide a cross-functional team to deliver a cohesive system on schedule and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with multiple engineering groups to define requirements, develop specifications, and explore new technologies for improved safety, quality, velocity, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science curriculum.
• Extensive engineering experience in electric power generation, electrical & electronic control systems, inverter technologies or electrical power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with Matlab, Simulink, Codesys.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction for team members to develop and execute complex hybrid control systems including generators, inverters, and battery systems.
• Ensure collaboration between departments and divisions to deliver a cohesive system on time.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to define and meet product requirements.
• Provide guidance on long term strategy and direction for controls, inverters and battery energy storage systems.
• Provide guidance and support for regulatory compliance and certification.
• Research new methods for system and site control.
• Develop functional requirements, design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications that satisfy customer needs and advance safety, quality, velocity and cost.
• Guiding the evolution of technical design, technical project planning, detail design, and development testing.
• Monitoring, exploring, and testing new technologies, materials, and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities.
