The Innocence Project invites applications for a fully funded two-year Post-Conviction Litigation Fellow position. The role supports reinvestigation and litigation of actual innocence claims, often involving DNA testing issues, ineffective assistance, and misconduct.

Hybrid in-office model with in-person weekly anchor day and travel as needed. The ideal candidate is a lawyer with excellent research, persuasive writing, and advocacy skills, committed to criminal justice reform, and able to work

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school prior to start date.
• Eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not provided.
• Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist in drafting litigation strategy.
• Assist in post-conviction factual reinvestigations.
• Write motions and briefs in client representation, including DNA testing motions and relief from conviction.
• Conduct legal research.
• Communicate with clients and family members about cases.
• Prepare for and participate in evidentiary hearings.
