Job summary

The Managed Funds Association (MFA) seeks an Analyst, Research to research, collect, analyze, and interpret data impacting MFA's policy work and the economic wellbeing of pension plans and foundations.

Under the Managing Director, Head of Research, you will help develop and execute a strategic long-term research plan, analyze data with standard tools, and produce materials for internal and external audiences. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or graduate degree preferred in computer science, economics, finance, statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance-oriented or economic policy research/writing role.
• Knowledge of Python is preferred; experience with R and Stata considered.
• Experience with quantitative analysis (e.g., regression) and communicating findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of MFA's long-term research strategy.
• Analyze economic and financial data to inform policy positions using standard statistical packages.
• Provide reports, fact sheets, and data materials to internal MFA teams.
• Locate and summarize academic and policy research related to MFA's advocacy.
• Contribute to original research, including white papers and briefing notes.
• Coordinate research with MFA members and market participants.
• Publish and develop white papers in collaboration with service providers.
• Collaborate with other MFA teams to support advocacy before regulators.
