Job summary

Church Pension Group (CPG) is seeking a Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) in Midtown Manhattan. The role leads the PMO, develops Project Managers, and ensures projects align with strategic priorities.

Hybrid work and on-site collaboration are expected. The position emphasizes coaching PMs, governance, and portfolio partnerships, with a focus on improving PMO standards, tools, and delivery performance across complex initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive project management experience, including complex cross-functional projects.
• Experience establishing or maturing a PMO, partnering with portfolio and resource management functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or related field; PMP preferred; PgMP or relevant certification and master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years managing, coaching, or developing Project Managers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers; set expectations, performance standards, and development plans.
• Oversee project delivery governance, documentation, controls, and progress metrics.
• Partner with Enterprise Portfolio and Resource Management to translate priorities into executable plans.
• Develop PMO processes, templates, tools, lifecycle standards, and delivery reporting.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, variances, and escalations to stay within parameters.
• Serve as trusted advisor to sponsors and business leaders; collaborate in a matrixed environment.
