Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) in Addison, TX is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III to take ownership of design development, calculations, and coordination across disciplines. You will contribute to calculations, code research, QAQC, and project coordination from concept through construction.

You will mentor mechanical designers and interns, develop and review Revit layouts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, and engage in early design strategy discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) required.
• P.E. licensure required.
• 5+ years in the AEC industry preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and calculations for mechanical systems across schematic, design development, and construction document phases.
• Prepare technical documentation including system descriptions, specifications, and equipment schedules.
• Develop and review mechanical system layouts in Revit (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) in coordination with other trades.
• Coordinate mechanical design with internal disciplines and external consultants to resolve design conflicts.
• Mentor mechanical designers and interns in software use and modeling best practices.
