Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Pharmacy Technician in Cary, NC. This role supports pharmacy operations as the primary contact for patients and clinicians, handling calls, scheduling deliveries, and assisting with payments and insurance questions in a hybrid environment.

Ideal candidates are registered NC technicians or those pursuing registration, with strong communication, data-entry accuracy, and empathy for customers. Training occurs onsite with a later hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician in NC is required or highly valued.
• Hospice, retail or call center pharmacy experience preferred.
• Pharmacy technician certification is highly valued and supports success.
• Experience with medical terminology and claims/insurance processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary resource for inbound calls about non-clinical pharmacy inquiries.
• Schedule medication deliveries and collect payment information.
• Route calls to pharmacists, nurses, and staff for issue resolution.
• Update records and progress notes in the management system.
• Verify insurance information and discuss financial aspects of prescriptions.
• Identify adverse events and report to clinicians promptly.
• Maintain accurate data entry and documentation across systems.
