Job summary

Niyam IT is seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to support a federal client. The role involves designing and executing performance and load tests across the software lifecycle, identifying bottlenecks, and mentoring QA staff.

The position is hybrid, located in Ashburn, VA, with strong collaboration across development teams. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in software testing, hands-on experience with JMeter, Postman, GitLab, and API validation, and a solid understanding of SDLC,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of software testing and performance engineering experience.
• Experience with JavaScript and basic development concepts.
• Familiarity with GitLab, JMeter, K6, Postman, and SQL for performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute performance test plans, scenarios, and scripts to validate system scalability and responsiveness.
• Perform load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing to identify bottlenecks.
• Conduct functional, regression, usability, and acceptance testing as part of end-to-end validation.
• Analyze test results and perform root cause analysis of performance issues.
