Job summary

Niyam IT is seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer to support a federal client. The role focuses on designing, developing, and executing performance test strategies across SDLC, ensuring performance benchmarks and compliance.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with ability to successfully obtain a federal background investigation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in software testing and performance engineering.
• Experience with JavaScript, GitLab, JMeter, K6, Postman, SQL, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute performance test plans, scenarios, and scripts to validate system scalability, reliability, and responsiveness.
• Perform load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing to identify system limitations and ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct functional, regression, usability, and acceptance testing as part of end-to-end validation efforts.
• Analyze test results and perform root cause analysis of performance issues, providing actionable feedback to development teams.
• Collaborate with project managers and developers to ensure testing objectives and timelines are met.
• Create and maintain documentation for test plans, cases, results, and defect tracking.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement testing tools and strategies to improve automation and performance testing capabilities.
• Design, execute, and maintain load and performance test suites, and monitor test results across environments.
• Provide regular progress reports and quality metrics to project stakeholders.
• May mentor or lead other QA professionals and serve as a SME on performance testing best practices.
