Job summary

American Financing is a national mortgage lender seeking a Payroll Administrator to support accurate, timely processing of employee compensation and to maintain payroll system integrity. You will handle day-to-day payroll, verify timekeeping data, process deductions, and ensure compliant with tax regulations while serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries.

The ideal candidate has UKG payroll experience, strong data accuracy, and proficiency with Excel, with at least 3 years in payroll

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing, lending, or related administrative field.
• Minimum of one year of direct hands-on experience utilizing UKG software is required.
• Advanced proficiency with UKG payroll and timekeeping platforms.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle confidential data discreetly.
• High level of attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
• Solid analytical skills to interpret payroll data and identify system variances.
• Working knowledge of wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and state regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Execute regular, bonus, and correction payroll cycles accurately within UKG on schedule.
• Audit and verify employee hours within UKG timekeeping before processing.
• Resolve employee inquiries regarding UKG timekeeping, paychecks, and payroll policies.
• Generate daily, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, including summaries.
• Reconcile and balance payroll registers on per-payroll, quarterly, and year-end bases.
• Organize and maintain all digital payroll documentation and tax correspondence.
• Assist in preparing and submitting federal, state, and local tax deposits and returns.
• Register and maintain state-specific payroll tax and unemployment accounts for remote workers.
• Provide daily activity and productivity reports to the Payroll Manager to track goals.
