Job summary

Empower Federal Credit Union is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to manage bi-weekly payroll, benefits programs, and the 401(k) retirement plan. You will handle enrollments, changes, and reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

This hybrid role in Syracuse requires strong collaboration with HR Operations, Finance, and vendors, plus adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in payroll, employee benefits, retirement-plan administration, HR operations, or a related area.
• Hands-on payroll processing and auditing; benefits enrollment and eligibility administration; data reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Processes bi-weekly payroll activities including maintenance and changes.
• Manages benefits administration including enrollment, changes, terminations and open enrollment.
• Supports day-to-day 401(k) plan administration and vendor coordination.
• Ensures data accuracy and confidentiality in payroll and benefits records.
