Job summary

Denise Louie Education Center is seeking a full-time Payroll & Accounting Specialist in Seattle to support payroll and accounting functions, ensure strong internal controls, and maintain compliance with grant requirements. You will collaborate with HR, the accounting team, and program supervisors to resolve issues and improve workflows.

The role requires an AA (or higher) in accounting or business, with at least two years of payroll/accounting experience.

Qualifications

• AA or higher in accounting or business is required.
• At least two years of accounting and payroll processing experience.
• Ability to interpret federal and local compliance policies.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel; familiarity with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll on a bi-monthly schedule and offcycle when needed.
• Manage wage garnishments, deductions, and payroll-related expenses.
• Coordinate HR updates to keep personnel records accurate.
• Verify invoices and process accounts payable, including payments.
• Assist month-end close, reconciliations, and audits.
