Job summary

Metro is hiring a Payroll Management Analyst to join a collaborative team ensuring accurate, on-time payroll and regulatory compliance. You will handle tax compliance, reconciliations, journal entries, and system maintenance to support payroll operations.

The role partners with HR, Finance, IT, and Benefits to drive process improvements and ensure accurate financial reporting. On-site two days per week with hybrid telework in the Portland area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, data analytics, or related field.
• 2 years of relevant payroll administration, payroll tax compliance, payroll accounting, timekeeping administration, HRIS support, or related field.
• Any combination of education, professional, volunteer and lived experience providing necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform payroll tax administration and compliance for federal, state, and local levels.
• Coordinate year-end payroll reporting including W-2s and tax filings.
• Oversee payroll tax accuracy by auditing tax setup and calculations.
• Record payroll-related expenses, liabilities, deductions, and payments in the general ledger.
• Prepare and post journal entries for payroll processing and adjustments.
• Balance and reconcile payroll subledgers to the general ledger.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with reconciliations and adjusting entries.
• Administer payroll system configurations and updates.
