Job summary

Inova Health seeks a dedicated Payment Integrity specialist to join our revenue cycle team. This full-time role is hybrid, Monday through Friday, and requires working from VA/MD/DC area. The position focuses on analyzing reimbursement and ensuring payment accuracy across payors and contracts.

You will review claims, identify variances, and support actionable improvements with leadership. Experience in hospital billing and Epic reporting is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 6 years of experience in Payment Integrity, Denials Management, or similar roles.
• Associate degree in Finance, Business or Healthcare Management or HS diploma with relevant experience.
• Strong Excel and Epic reporting skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Validates reimbursement accuracy against payor agreements and payment policies.
• Analyzes claims, remittances and contractual allowances to identify variances.
• Investigates issues related to contract misapplications, processing errors, or policy changes.
• Monitors reimbursement trends and escalates recurring issues requiring intervention.
• Reviews claims, remittances and overpayments to identify recovery opportunities.
• Determines root causes of overpayments and recommends corrective actions.
• Conducts root cause analyses to identify drivers of denials and reimbursement risks.
• Translates findings into actionable recommendations for operational teams and leadership.
• Supports strategic initiatives related to revenue protection and payment accuracy.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
