Job summary

PromptCare is seeking a motivated Patient Access Specialist to manage initial authorization requests with payers, ensuring timely access to needed services. Hybrid work arrangement: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote. Strong healthcare background and familiarity with Brightree are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare, preferably respiratory or DME.
• Strong knowledge of insurance authorization processes and payer guidelines.
• Experience with Brightree or similar systems preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Clinical/medical office administrative experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with intake, clinical, and billing teams to gather required documentation.
• Maintain accurate records in Brightree and internal systems.
• Prepare, submit, and track authorization requests to payers in a timely manner.
• Monitor authorization statuses and follow up to prevent delays in patient care.
• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and company policies.
• Communicate with patients, insurance plans, and providers to ensure timely approvals.
• Escalate problem accounts and drive resolution.
