Job summary

The School of Nuclear Science and Engineering at Oregon State University invites applications for part-time (varied FTE), 9-month, fixed-term Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2026-2027 academic year. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position at the Head of School's discretion.

Positions cover nuclear engineering, radiation health physics, radiochemistry, or engineering science, with possible course/curriculum

Qualifications

• Masters degree in nuclear engineering, radiation health physics, radiochemistry, or closely related field.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• PhD in nuclear engineering, radiation health physics, radiochemistry, or closely related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Instruct courses by using appropriate and various teaching strategies. Acknowledge differences in learning styles.
• Communicates effectively, meets classes as scheduled, and submits grading in a timely manner.
• Complete ABET accreditation course assessment.
• Participates in departmental and college governance as well as any professional activities.
