Job summary

Scientific Adventures for Girls is seeking a part-time Communications Coordinator to tell our story across social channels, newsletters, and press outreach from our Berkeley office. The role blends creative content with donor communications and event storytelling to support girls in STEM.

You’ll work in a hybrid schedule, 15–20 hours per week, with in-office presence three days weekly. Salary ranges from $24.00 to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience, with benefits and professional

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or PR.
• Proficient with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Comfort with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.) and a CRM/database.
• Strong writing and ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Valid driver’s license for local travel.

Responsibilities

• Own our social presence across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and beyond.
• Design and format newsletters and email campaigns for donors, families, and volunteers.
• Capture photos, videos, and stories from programs and events.
• Keep the website content and event listings up to date.
• Submit and track press releases to media outlets.
• Design flyers, invitations, and promotional materials and cover events on-site.
