Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking an Actuary on the Rate Indications team to lead complex analyses for personal lines property pricing. You will develop models, present findings to partners, and influence pricing strategies across the organization.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Product Actuary in a hybrid role based in Boston or Madison, WI, with up to 10% travel. Relocation support is offered where eligible.

Qualifications

• ACAS or FCAS certification required.
• Extensive actuarial modeling and data forecasting experience.
• Strong knowledge of property/casualty pricing and ratemaking.
• Experience influencing pricing strategies and committee discussions.
• Ability to lead complex analyses and present results.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex actuarial methodologies for insurance pricing.
• Develop partnerships and provide insights to business partners.
• Explore new statistical models and data sources.
• Own the indication development process.
• Support pricing strategy in rate review meetings.
• Develop pricing for new products and rating structures.
• Collaborate on data efforts and dataset development.
• Assist with ratemaking methodologies and models.
• Monitor industry trends and competitive impacts.
• Prepare annual exhibits for loss and LAE.
• Determine factor reserves annually.
