Job summary

Withum is seeking an Outsourced Accounting Senior Consultant to join our OASyS team in a US office location. This hybrid-based role requires 3 days in the office.

You will work with clients in the professional services industry, lead month-end close, review payroll and journal entries, and support audits while strengthening internal controls.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years in accounting, strong communication, and experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Clio, and Excel; CPA or MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA preferred and/or MBA equivalent.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership.
• Strong client service experience in outsourced accounting or consulting.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Clio; Excel proficiency.
• GAAP knowledge and strong internal controls understanding.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team; assign work, review deliverables, coach and provide feedback.
• Oversee accounts payable workflow and vendor/contractor payments.
• Review payroll processing and filings with client HR/payroll.
• Lead month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger accuracy.
• Review and approve journal entries and supporting details.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances.
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and analytics.
• Partner with client leadership as day-to-day contact; communicate status and risks.
• Coordinate external reviews and audits; manage auditor requests.
• Strengthen internal controls and streamline close processes.
