Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Hybrid OP Outpatient Coder (non-Mayo experienced) to review and assign codes from medical records for outpatient encounters. This role supports facility claims and requires strong attention to detail and independent work capabilities.

Candidates should have appropriate credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS-P or CPC) and either a High School diploma with 4 years of experience or an Associate's degree with 2 years; a Bachelor’s is preferred. OnDemand interview process applies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 4 years outpatient coding experience (non-Mayo) or 4 years non-Hospital Outpatient Mayo Clinic coding experience.
• Associate's degree with 2 years Hospital Outpatient coding experience (non-Mayo) or 2 years non-Hospital Outpatient Mayo Clinic coding experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P or CPC credential required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and assigns codes from medical record documentation for outpatient medical and surgical encounters.
• Includes diagnostic and procedural information for facility claim.
• Ability to work independently in a teleworking environment and maintain attention to detail.
