Job summary

The University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a full-time, 12-month faculty member to join the PTRSAT in a non-tenure track Clinical Assistant/Clinical Associate Professor role focused on teaching DPT students in a hybrid pathway.

Responsibilities include teaching in the DPT program, supporting development of the hybrid pathway, and participating in committees, with service and research expectations aligned to the department’s mission.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice physical therapy in Kansas.
• Experience with orthopedic PT practice.
• Experience teaching didactic orthopedic courses as a core faculty member in an entry-level DPT program.
• Experience with innovative classroom approaches in PT education (distance education, flipped model, integration of technology, immersive lab sessions).

Responsibilities

• Assist with teaching courses within the current DPT program in alignment with contemporary expertise.
• Support the development of a new hybrid DPT program following accreditation standards.
• Participate on department, school, and institution committees and faculty governance, service to professional organizations as appropriate.
• Supervise students in the pro bono clinic (in person or via telehealth).
• Teach content in the orthopedic physical therapy courses and other courses in the DPT curriculum.
• Duties and responsibilities may change over time.
