Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin’s UT High School seeks a Learning Specialist for the Science program. You will design online courses, final exams, and K-12 credit by exams for UT High School students and district partners, while coordinating instructional resources and support.

You will lead instructional design, provide guidance to teachers, and ensure TEKS alignment, assessment integrity, and student success through collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education or science; five years of secondary teaching experience, or bachelor’s degree and seven years of secondary teaching experience.
• Texas Teacher Certification in high school science.
• Experience designing instruction and assessments for high school science.
• Comprehensive understanding of TEKS, STAAR, and best practices in science instruction and assessment.
• Experience implementing support for emergent bilingual, Gifted/Talented, and special education students.
• Experience with online instruction.

Responsibilities

• Design online courses, final exams, and K-12 credit by exams for UT High School students and district partners.
• Provide instructional guidance and support to teachers and adjunct instructors; develop resources and processes.
• Design, review, and maintain credit by exams and final assessments; ensure TEKS alignment and state compliance.
• Monitor student progress and collaborate across teams to improve programs and support student success.
