Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Coordinator for the Hematology-Oncology team at the Lank Cancer Center in Needham. The role focuses on guiding patients through their oncology journey, coordinating care, and providing education and advocacy.

Ideal candidates have strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset to support multi-disciplinary teams and ensure patient-centered care in a hybrid, patient-friendly setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with active BLS certification.
• 3–5 years of nursing experience; Oncology experience preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and web-based applications.
• Strong communication and collaboration with care teams required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families on chemotherapy and immunotherapy; provide reassurance and clear communication throughout treatment.
• Coordinate care across treatments, including pre-treatment staging and labs, venous access, and diagnostics.
• Serve as a clinical liaison between BIDMC Boston and BID Needham providers.
• Support physicians with telephone triage, medication renewals, and referrals.
• Participate in rounds, case discussions, and quality-improvement initiatives.
