Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Lank Cancer Center in Needham, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse Coordinator to guide patients through their oncology journey. You’ll coordinate care, educate patients about chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and partner with BIDMC Boston and BID Needham clinicians to ensure seamless treatment planning and compassionate support.

This role requires an RN license, BLS, 3–5 years of oncology nursing, and proficiency with EMR and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 3–5 years of related nursing experience
• Oncology nursing experience
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and web-based applications
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Outpatient oncology experience
• Care coordination or nurse navigator experience
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families on chemotherapy and immunotherapy
• Prepare patients for treatment initiation, including pre-treatment staging, laboratory work and diagnostic testing, and venous access placement
• Serve as a clinical liaison between BIDMC Boston and BID Needham providers
• Support Hematology/Oncology physicians and nurse practitioners with telephone triage, medication prescription renewals, and outside laboratory ordering
• Coordinate care with VNA, Hospice and home care agencies and with multidisciplinary teams
• Assist with pre-authorization processes and ensure accurate scheduling of consultations, diagnostics, and treatments
• Perform patient assessments and collect clinical histories; participate in rounds and quality improvement initiatives
• Contribute to process and care delivery improvements in outpatient oncology
