Job summary

Oakland Community Health Network is seeking a Nurse Trainer to participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of training curricula for direct support professionals and others in behavioral health settings across Oakland and Macomb counties.

The role requires a BSN, Michigan RN license, and prior nursing and teaching experience; will develop courses, ensure competency in medications administration and basic health, and align curricula with licensing standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited college/university.
• Active unrestricted Michigan registered nurse (RN) license.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience as an RN within the last 5 years, including teaching in a healthcare-related field.
• At least 1 year (1,600 hours total) in providing long-term care facility services.
• Course in teaching adults or experience teaching adults.

Responsibilities

• With the training team, develop health-related courses for implementation within the network.
• Provide education, training, and employee development classes related to healthy lifestyles, health care and nursing.
• Ensure competency in Medications Administration, Basic Health, and other courses for direct support professionals.
• Ensure curricula content meets licensing and state guidelines for direct support professionals.
• Provide consultation to providers regarding conformance to health and medication training standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
