Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Associate Project Manager in the Nuclear Power Group. You will manage projects with engineers, designers, controls and scheduling professionals, coordinating across departments to drive design, modification, and analysis of nuclear plant projects.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, and manage risks, schedule, and budgets, with occasional travel to client and vendor sites. The role is hybrid, requiring in-office work 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• 7 or more years of experience in the design and analysis of nuclear facilities.
• 5 or more years of experience in project management / project coordination.
• Experience in managing medium-to-large engineering projects.
• Experience serving as firm/client liaison in a lead engineering role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project(s) with engineers, designers, controls and scheduling professionals.
• Direct team leads in coordination of detailed design phases for engineering, design, and construction support.
• Lead efforts to complete projects on time, with high quality and within budget.
• Coordinate systems design activities to meet specifications and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies and provide independent reviews of work.
• Mentor and coach staff; oversee staff development and engagement.
• Manage external relationships with consultants, contractors, and joint ventures.
• Monitor performance, safety, schedule, budget and client relations throughout the lifecycle.
• Identify and control project/construction risk and manage scope changes.
• Occasionally travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site verification.
