Job summary

Claire's Army seeks an organized, proactive Operations & Engagement Manager to oversee day-to-day operational functions, vendor relationships, and organizational processes that enable the nonprofit to serve families battling childhood cancer. The role partners with the Executive Director to build scalable systems across programs, fundraising, volunteer engagement, and administration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in operations, nonprofit administration, project management, business operations, event management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with staff, volunteers, and external partners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess a valid NC driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary operational partner to the Executive Director and oversee day-to-day functions.
• Develop, document, and maintain SOPs, workflows, and operational resources.
• Lead vendor management including contract review, negotiations, and renewals.
• Manage payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting across QuickBooks and related platforms.
• Support fundraising events and donor/database activities (DonorPerfect).
• Coordinate volunteer engagement, scheduling, and event logistics.
