Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Network Security Engineer to drive security improvements in a hybrid Fed/CIS environment. You will remotely orchestrate vulnerability remediation, patch management, IAM hardening, and firewall tuning across Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Nessus, SIEM tools, and enterprise firewall technologies, with a focus on delivering measurable security posture gains within IRS 1075/NIST RMF compliant constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or cybersecurity or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on enterprise cybersecurity experience.
• Proven ability to configure, implement, and validate security controls.
• Experience with federal standards: NIST RMF, SP 800-53, IRS 1075.

Responsibilities

• Lead vulnerability remediation and governance initiatives across the enterprise.
• Configure and optimize Nessus scanning and SIEM integrations.
• Manage patch deployment and endpoint hardening for Windows and macOS.
• Implement firewall and cloud security improvements in hybrid environments.
• Prepare technical runbooks, reports, and knowledge transfer materials.
