Peraton is hiring a Security & Vulnerability Management Engineer to drive cybersecurity improvements across a federal enterprise environment. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, vulnerability management, patching, endpoint protection, firewall tuning, IAM controls, and cloud security in a hybrid Washington, DC setting.

The engineer will own technical deliverables from assessment through implementation, supporting RMF, NIST 800-53 Rev 5, and IRS Publication 1075 standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of relevant experience; 4 years may substitute for a degree.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on enterprise cybersecurity experience including vulnerability assessment and remediation.
• Experience directly configuring, implementing, hardening, troubleshooting, and validating enterprise security controls.

Aufgaben

• Conduct authenticated and unauthenticated vulnerability assessments across servers, endpoints, networks, SQL Server, VDI, and cloud workloads.
• Directly implement remediation activities including secure configuration changes and system hardening.
• Develop a risk-based vulnerability prioritization matrix using CVSS, asset criticality, and exploitability.
• Establish a governance framework for remediation with SLAs, ownership models, and escalation workflows.
• Deliver a Vulnerability Remediation Governance Plan within 60 days.
