Job summary

Department of Public Health in South Carolina seeks a programmer to work on complex agency computer systems. The role involves designing, coding, testing, and documenting health applications, with emphasis on CDES backend systems and data reporting. Occasional after-hours work may be required.

You will analyze and modify web and client/server modules, provide technical support, and ensure IT security standards are followed. Collaboration with analytics teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of information systems design, testing, debugging, analysis, integration, maintenance and security techniques.
• Experience with SQL queries, stored procedures, and XML.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and oral communication.
• Ability to work under limited supervision and respond to priority tasks.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, program, implement, maintain, and provide technical support for Public Health applications and processes.
• Support, maintain, and modify web, mobile and client/server modules and integration services; ensure security requirements.
• Act as a technical consultant to customers and collaborate with staff to meet data and reporting needs.
• Prepare and maintain system documentation and provide project communication.
