Job summary

University Health in San Antonio is seeking a board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Nephrology team in a hybrid role between inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will care for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, collaborate with nephrologists and care teams, and help educate patients and families on disease management and therapies. Three-plus years of nursing or nephrology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
• Texas RN and APRN license (for NPs) or Texas PA license.
• National certification, prescriptive authority, and BLS (or higher).
• DEA number within 90 days of hire.
• Two or more years of nephrology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nephrology care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Collaborate with nephrologists and multidisciplinary teams to create treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and lifestyle changes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and academic mentorship.
