Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Mission Critical Data Center Design Engineer to support planning, expansion, modernization, and resiliency of mission‑critical data center facilities in Richmond, VA. The role centers on physical infrastructure—electrical, mechanical, power, and cooling systems—and is not a data center operations position.

You will participate in infrastructure development and engineering decisions, review designs for availability and capacity, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams

Qualifications

• Experience in designing and supporting mission-critical data center infrastructure.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, power, and cooling systems.
• Contract role based out of Richmond, VA and requires W2 status.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation, and expansion of mission-critical data center infrastructure.
• Review engineering designs and technical specifications for availability, resiliency, and capacity.
• Participate in modernization, expansion, and development initiatives.
• Lead or participate in commissioning activities and testing of infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Construction, Real Estate, Critical Systems, Technology, and vendor teams.
