Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Blytheville, AR seeks a Metallurgical Engineer to drive safety, quality, production and cost improvements. You will monitor melting, casting, heat treatment and microstructure, using SPC tools and Minitab for process stability and optimization. Collaborate with operations and maintenance in a safety‑driven environment.

Option to work from home one day per week may be available; local residency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in Materials Science, Metallurgical Eng, or related field.
• Two years of steel manufacturing experience and process monitoring experience.
• Experience with melting, alloying, casting, mechanical testing, microstructure evaluation, and heat treatment.
• Experience applying SPC tools (X-bar, R, I-MR, Cp, Cpk) and regression analysis with Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, quality, production, and cost improvements.
• Train team members and coordinate with operations and maintenance.
• Monitor metallurgical processes and ensure process stability.
• Provide engineering support for Scrap, Melting, Refining, Refractories, Casting, Rolling, Finishing, and Heat Treatment.
