Job summary

St. Joseph's Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Coder to review and abstract demographic, financial and clinical data from inpatient records to assign ICD diagnosis codes, HCPCS and CPT procedure codes. Accuracy and timely entry are essential.

The role supports both inpatient and outpatient records, with a part-time, day-shift schedule at St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Passaic County, New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience in coding/abstracting.
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology or related field.
• CCS AHIMA certification or within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Review and abstract demographic, financial and clinical data from inpatient records to assign ICD, HCPCS and CPT codes.
• Ensure inpatient and outpatient records are coded, abstracted and entered into the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
