Job summary

Disc Medicine, headquartered in Watertown, MA, is seeking a Medical Director, Clinical Development to lead medical oversight across the design, execution, and interpretation of clinical programs. You will interact with Clinical Science, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, Pharmacovigilance, and others to advance therapies from early development through regulatory evaluation.

The role focuses on an iron metabolism program; ideal candidates have hematology/anemia expertise, strong clinical research

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MD-PhD or equivalent medical degree.
• Board certification/eligibility in Hematology/Oncology, Hematology, Oncology, Internal Medicine, or related specialty preferred.
• Fellowship training strongly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of relevant clinical research/clinical development experience in biopharma, pharma, CRO, academia, or clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and strategic leadership for assigned programs and studies.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and execute clinical development plans, objectives, designs, endpoints, milestones, and strategies.
• Provide medical input into protocols, investigator brochures, informed consents, SAPs, clinical study reports, and regulatory documents.
• Serve as subject matter expert on disease biology, clinical practice, and competitive landscape.
• Interpret internal and external data to inform development strategy and decisions.
• Develop relationships with investigators, KOLs, and external experts and support conferences and competitive intelligence.
