Job summary

NRECA is seeking a Medical Claims Associate in Lincoln, NE. You will be a primary contact for members, handling inquiries about benefits, claims, and payments with empathy and accuracy.

This role supports the Medical and Dental Claims Department in a hybrid setup allowing some work from home up to two days per week. Ideal candidates bring up to 12 months of claims experience and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred Education: Associate degree.
• Up to 12 months claims processing experience in medical insurance.
• Medical Terminology Certification required or within 6 months of training.
• Inbound/outbound telephone customer service experience.
• Knowledge of medical insurance plans and benefits.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service orientation.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to report to the office when required.

Responsibilities

• Handle a steady volume of member calls with accurate, compassionate service.
• Explain medical, vision, and other benefit programs and coverage.
• Assist with questions on claims, EOBs, eligibility, deductibles, and payments.
• Research and resolve member concerns; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Document calls and follow up; maintain detailed records per procedures.
