Job summary

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in Lincoln, Nebraska, seeks a detail-oriented Medical Claims Associate to join the Medical and Dental Claims Department. You will be a primary contact for members, providing timely guidance on benefits, claims processes, and financial questions while delivering compassionate phone support.

This role offers a hybrid schedule with work from home up to 2 days per week, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Terminology Certification required or obtainable within 6 months of completing claims training.
• Up to 12 months experience in medical claims processing or healthcare billing.

Responsibilities

• Handle a steady volume of member calls with accurate, efficient service.
• Explain medical, vision, and other benefit programs to members.
• Assist with questions on claims, EOBs, eligibility, deductibles, copayments, and payments.
• Research and resolve member concerns; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Document calls and follow up activities; maintain detailed records.
