Qualifications

• Experience with medical claims, denials, and appeals preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming prescriptions and supporting medical documentation.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Accurately enter patient and billing information into multiple software systems.
• Prepare and submit medical claims using appropriate HCPCS and ICD-10 coding.
• Monitor claims through the reimbursement process.
• Investigate and resolve billing issues.
• Research, prepare, and submit appeals for denied claims.
• Audit documentation to ensure claims are complete and compliant before submission.
• Collect and review referrals and prior authorizations by communicating with nurse case managers and insurance adjusters.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls with insurance carriers and payers.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, fax, and email.
• Accurately document all communications and claim activity.
• Partner with team members to improve workflows and operational efficiencies.
• Maintain compliance with payer guidelines and state and federal regulations.
