Job summary

Asheville Ear Nose & Throat is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to support clinical operations and provide outstanding patient care. This hybrid role combines hands-on medical tasks with front desk duties such as scheduling, check-in, and patient communication.

You will assist MDs with patient care, room patients, take vitals, and help with imaging, labs, and minor procedures as you learn across the office. A team-oriented, compassionate approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program or 2+ years clinical experience.
• Strong multitasking, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist wherever needed.
• Technologically savvy; proficient in Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, room them, take vitals, update medical history, and prepare them for exams.
• Assist with imaging, reports, pathology results, sleep studies, and lab results.
• Set up scopes for exams and obtain consents.
• Maintain EMR documentation and insurance processes.
• Clean and sterilize instruments, stock rooms, and ensure supplies are ready.
• Assist MD with minor procedures as learned.
• Provide compassionate patient care and effective patient communication.
