Job summary

Accelerated Urgent Care in California is seeking a Cross-Trained Medical Assistant / Receptionist to support front and back office operations across multiple clinics. You will schedule appointments, register patients, answer phones, and assist providers during examinations, ensuring smooth clinic flow.

The role requires flexibility to float between locations within the region, travel as needed, and a Medical Assistant Diploma; prior experience in medical offices and HIPAA awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience and/or training in a medical office, urgent care, physician office, customer service, receptionist, or medical assistant role.
• Knowledge of multi-line phone systems.
• Proficient in computers and relevant software applications, including electronic medical records and practice management systems.
• Demonstrated initiative and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes all patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors in person or on the telephone.
• Handles all incoming telephone calls from patients, schedules appointments, and answers general questions and inquiries.
• Uses computer systems to refer to existing patient information or set up new patients in the scheduling tool.
• Maintains registration flow by efficiently moving patients through the process and preparing them for clinical staff using EMR (e.g., Experity).
• Interacts with patients by answering questions, providing information, and maintaining an organized reception area.
• Verifies insurance and patient demographic information and collects payments as needed.
• Assists providers during examinations and procedures and chaperones patient exams when necessary.
• Performs clinical duties and supports daily clinic operations; covers Front Office, Reception, Call Center, and Back Office as needed.

Education

Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited school/program
