Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to serve in a hybrid Career Services and Externship Coordinator role. You will help MA students transition from classroom to externship to employment, coordinating placements and coaching graduates while building partnerships with Reno-area healthcare employers.

Qualifications

• At least three years of hands-on Medical Assisting experience.
• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is required.
• Strong communication, organization, relationship-building, and follow-through skills.
• Confidence reaching out to healthcare employers and developing new partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate externship placements for Medical Assisting students.
• Prepare students for externship and communicate expectations.
• Monitor hours, evaluations, and required documentation.
• Conduct externship site visits and maintain site relationships.
• Coach students and graduates in resume development, interviewing, and job search strategies.
• Connect graduates with job opportunities and support them through hiring.
• Build relationships with clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare employers.
• Develop new externship sites and opportunities through outreach and networking.
• Maintain accurate, timely student and employer records.
