Job summary

Unitek College Of Nursing is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to transition students from classroom to externship and into employment. This hybrid Career Services and Externship Coordinator role involves coordinating externship placements, coaching students, and developing partnerships with healthcare employers in the Reno area.

The role is hybrid with evening availability and requires building relationships with clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• Three years of hands-on Medical Assisting experience.
• Completion of a Medical Assisting program.
• Strong communication, organization, relationship-building, and follow-through skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate externship placements for Medical Assisting students.
• Coach students and graduates in resume development and interview skills.
• Develop partnerships with healthcare employers in the Reno area.
• Maintain accurate student and employer records and documentation.
• Support students through the hiring process and connect graduates with job opportunities.
• Conduct externship site visits and manage relationships with site supervisors.
