Job summary

HARMAN Automotive seeks a Resident Engineer to drive product development and solutions for key customer programs. You will work closely with GM engineering and HARMAN Engineering, coordinating cross-functional priorities and moving forward HARMAN’s speaker designs in GM programs.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; CAD experience with CATIA/SolidWorks/NX preferred; strong program milestone management; AI familiarity encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience with CAD applications – CATIA/ SolidWorks/ NX (preferred).
• Experience with Teamcenter VIS Mockup or comparable tools to evaluate vehicle packaging.
• Ability to manage customer program milestones across engineering, keeping priorities clear and open issues moving toward resolution.
• Relationship-building skills that build trust with the customer.
• Never-ending curiosity to learn, discover, gain knowledge on projects, processes, components, vehicle architecture, and other engineering domains.
• Clear communication and sound judgment when explaining technical tradeoffs to customers, product teams, and engineering partners so decisions can be made quickly.
• We see AI as an important part of how work gets done. While tools may vary, a baseline familiarity with using AI to support efficiency, problem-solving, and quality is expected.

Responsibilities

• Work within GM's Team Center database to provide data and CAD to HARMAN’s engineering team.
• Create and present technical presentations that include dimensions, cross-section, and design proposals to demonstrate solutions to GM.
• Run weekly PDT meetings and record open issues/issue resolutions/program timing weekly with the respective program team to successfully move the program forward.
• Support CIT Meetings and presenting issues/issue resolutions weekly to support design solutions.
• Attend VPIT meetings and present issues/issue resolutions to explain HARMAN’S design perspective.
• Create change requests inside of GM systems to document and to update and track HARMAN’s mechanical designs.
