Job summary

Buro Happold in Washington, DC area is seeking a motivated Mechanical Intern to contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. You will learn about HVAC systems and collaborate with architects and engineers to design energy-efficient buildings.

The role offers hands-on experience, mentorship from senior engineers, and opportunities to apply coursework to real projects across our global network.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• Coursework in mechanical/HVAC design, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with BIM modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD) is a plus.
• Internship experience at an engineering firm is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Open to candidates from related engineering fields.

Responsibilities

• Embrace the latest technologies to improve performance and sustainability
• Assist performing detailed HVAC engineering building services design and calculations
• Take part in the preparation of technical drawings, schedules, and reports
• Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams and with senior engineers
